Mark Wayne Clark (May 1, 1896 – April 17, 1984) was an American general during World War II and the Korean War and was the youngest lieutenant general (three-star general) in the U.S. Army. From 1954 until 1965, after retiring from the Army, General Clark served as president of The Citadel. I-526 is named after Mark Clark as the Mark Clark Expressway.
